David has been exclusively representing injured workers throughout Kansas for over 33 years. He has appeared in every workers’ compensation court in the state, argued cases before the Appeals Board, District Courts, and the Kansas Court of Appeals, and successfully represented thousands of injured Kansans over his career.
A native of Kansas City, David graduated as Valedictorian from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1985. He attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, playing Division I football as a defensive end, before transferring to Kansas State University. While sitting out his transfer year, he joined the nationally ranked debate team, earned a scholarship, and discovered that his true talent lay in argumentation rather than athletics.
David earned his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1992 and has practiced claimant workers’ compensation law ever since. He is actively involved in the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and has contributed articles to their Journal for over 30 years.
Outside the office, David enjoys family life with his wife Michelle, a Wichita nurse for over 30 years. Their daughter Josie graduated from KSU and now works in fashion design in Florida. Son Jake also attended KSU and is in a pilot training program for American Airlines. Their youngest son, Logan, attends Flint Hills Technical School in Emporia, studying welding. Sports have always been central to the family; David has coached youth sports for over 20 years and founded the Wichita Rugby Club in 1993, playing for more than 25 years. He now coaches the Wichita Junior Barbarians youth rugby club, which he founded 10 years ago and which includes youth flag, middle school tackle, and high school tackle programs.
