Phil joined Slape & Howard in 1998. He has handled thousands of cases and he regularly appears in court, arguing cases before the Appeals Board and Kansas Appellate Courts. His deep knowledge of workers’ compensation law makes him a go-to resource for complex cases.
Jonathan Voegeli
Managing Partner
Jon joined Slape & Howard in 2013 after a stint in the California Penal League, where he assisted public defenders and inmates at Pelican Bay State Prison. Known for his tenacity, Jon excels at multitasking, often reading statutes while consulting clients and communicating with legislators about Kansas workers compensation law.
David Farris
Attorney At Law
David joined Slape & Howard in 2023 and has been exclusively representing injured workers throughout Kansas for over 33 years. He has appeared in every workers’ compensation court in the state, argued cases before the Appeals Board, District Courts, and the Kansas Court of Appeals, and successfully represented thousands of injured Kansans over his career.
Gabrielle Altenor

Gabby joined the Slape & Howard team in the fall of 2025 and for some reason, Gabby stayed close to home for college, earning a B.A. in Biology with minors in Pre-Law and Spanish from Newman University in 2021. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law with her Juris Doctor in May 2024.
